In-Country Orientation

Making sure that our interns have the right background for their placements is only part of our job. Once interns arrive in their host country, our staff take them through an intensive training program that includes language training specialized for each placement type, a basic health & safety briefing, cultural and historical seminars, transportation training, home stay orientation (where applicable) and placement consultation.

In an unknown country it can be difficult to feel comfortable. Therefore we believe that your first week must be an orientation week, where you learn to deal with your new surroundings. Our country coordinator will help you become familiar with your surroundings, and will teach you all the things you need to know. After this first week you will feel comfortable enough to get around by yourself. Without our orientation week you will need a longer period of time to learn about and adjust to the new culture enough to feel comfortable. It will cost you time that you otherwise could have used to enjoy your host-country and start your internship.
