Based in Kingston Ontario, Odyssey Travel has been helping travellers since 1980. We are members of ACTA, the Alliance of Canadian Travel Agencies, IATA, the International Air Transport Association and are fully registered with TICO, the Travel Industry Council of Ontario. In addition, we are members of a Cruise Network and act as agents for Travel CUTS, the Canadian Student Travel Company. Odyssey is owned and operated by Merit Travel Group Inc., a privately held, owner-managed company that has grown to become Canada's largest independent specialty travel company, serving as many as 500,000 travellers every year. This combination allows us to provide exceptional service and the best prices to a wide range of travel constituencies. We realize that the various constituencies have different travel needs and thus we have created distinct in-house divisions to provide focussed expertise. We have a staff of twelve full time people working within our office and another eight people working in the field.
TravelCUTS Internship Abroad Program assists students in finding suitable and unique internship opportunities overseas. If you are looking to fulfill a work placement requirement as part of your academic studies Internships Abroad can provide you with all the information and support you need to find an internship that will work for you. At home, and overseas, our staff is committed to ensuring your placement experience is successful and rewarding for both you and your host organization.
Our internship program works closely with local government and non-governmental organizations, international development organizations and local grassroots groups to set-up and support internship opportunities. Each internship placement has been researched and assessed to determine the type of skills and experience required. Minimum criteria such as language skills are identified so that we can provide interns with an in country training program that prepares them for their internship placement.
In addition to finding a suitable placement, our programs also focus on assisting interns with the transition to living and working overseas. Our orientation center and staff are there to assist with any training, extended living arrangements, cultural events and adventure tours so you can enjoy your internship to the fullest.
